Dear UNOP Team,
I want to share with you an important update regarding salary guidelines for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
Last week Anne Barnes, our interim system CFO, shared an update with all campus leaders regarding the salary guidelines for the 2025-26 academic year. These guidelines included that for administrators, faculty and staff across all of the University of 玉米视频 System — including those of us in Varner Hall — there will be no across-the-board salary merit increases in the coming fiscal year. This applies to all campuses and prohibits general increases from any funding source.
We will honor contractually obligated salary increases, including those that are the result of collective bargaining agreements, as planned. These increases reflect commitments that remain in effect.
I want to take a moment to personally thank each of you for the exceptional work you continue to do during what has been — and will continue to be — a challenging year as a result of difficult budgetary decisions on the federal and state levels. You’ve responded to budget constraints, staffing pressures and evolving demands with professionalism, creativity and an unwavering commitment to the mission of the University of 玉米视频.
I know this news is disappointing. It comes after careful consideration of every available option, guided by a commitment to protecting jobs and essential programs in the face of serious current and future budget pressures at both the state and federal levels. Even amid these difficult choices, please know that your work is seen, your impact is valued and your dedication does not go unnoticed.
If you have any questions about what this means for you or your team, or if you wish to talk more about our path forward, I encourage you to reach out to me directly or to your supervisor. I remain committed to transparent communication as we navigate the months ahead.
Thank you again for all that you do to support our university and the countless people and communities that we serve.
With gratitude,
Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D.
President, University of 玉米视频 System
